As Milwaukee’s leading cyber security IT company, it is important that we share cyber security tips throughout the year. During the holidays, there are many social engineering scams trying to trick us that are best avoided.
What is a social engineering scam?
This is the term used to describe the tactic that cybercriminals use to try to obtain your password, bank account number, or credit card number. These cybercriminals pose as reputable businesses where you might have accounts and try to get you to click links, attachments, or expose personal information.
Always consider every email or text message a scam, unless it is something you legitimately are expecting. So when you get the message that tells you to check your tracking on that package, do not click that link.
Have a safe and happy holiday!!
